Dart Tournament 2018

“Freccia D’Oro” or “The winner (not always) takes it all”

In Austria one would say "Kaiserwetter, in Italia" Che sole, che mare "and in good old England it would simply mean" What a bloody sunny day ". And so it was both the one, the other and the third when the club for the 3rd, and thus already traditional, Dart Tournier together. Freccia D'Oro, there he stood now, centered, magnificent, in beautiful gold tones, open as Lyons and Sayers, but not God, created him, with a long hood and beautiful tail, strung in a chain of timeless cats from four decades. No question, the thought was just too close, the game of arrows and the first prize, the Freccia D'Oro from the UK. There could only be one goal "The winner takes it all".

In the foreground was meticulous preparation, as Freccia D'Oro had to be brought home. As the perfect trajectory sure leads the arrow to the finish, so is the right focus for the calm and unerring throwing hand in the middle of the body. A lavish breakfast is a top priority, none of the participants would feel guilty conscience, it should have been one or the other delicacies more or less on the plate at Oliver's excellent table. But again, back to the essence of a vehicle club, to the vehicles. It was talked shop, pictures were shot, of crew and vehicle, while a thought matured, figuratively took shape: "The winner takes it all!" But just do not show any ambition, or even throw a furtive look at Freccia D'Oro. Stay cool, pretend ignorance of game, rules and accuracy. After all, prizes were awarded for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

And so after all, after repeated explanation of the rules (not all of them listen attentively the first time), they all went into the supposedly relaxed warm-up lap. It started with 301 points, to reach 0 as fast as possible, without overshooting the mathematical goal. Two teams were put together, the arrows (white blue, white red, white black and white green) prepared, the tips brought into the right position, carefully balanced, and taken start formation. First, it was the first team the golden mean, or here the black 0, just not a counter too much and thus back to start to achieve. Doping should play no role in such a Tournier, but you could think that the supervision would have closed all eyes generously. Where was she when secretly practiced on the branch line! Wherever it went and who needed it, resorted to the perfidious helpers, be it coffee, beer or even a US-American soft drink, depending on whether a quiet or stronger throwing hand was needed. In the end it came as it had to come. Heinz, the keeper of the boards, keeper of the arrows, intimate connoisseur of Wolfgraben, his thermals and wind directions, led his team confidently in the first round to victory. Fast second and third place followed. But also in the second team were eventually the top 3 firmly. And so after a first brief disagreement and discussion with the referee regarding the further course of the process for the next and decisive round. 6 brave, each top 3 of the first round, were the contenders for the trophy. Freccia D'Oro! The winner wants to take it all !!!

Not embittered, again always relaxed and without tension, they started again. Points fell, the magic 32 - psychological hurdle and intermediate goal to victory for those of the Six, who was the first to achieve the 0, and exactly the 0, moved closer and closer. It was close, the points tumbled, diametrically disproportionately increased fear and tension. After all, it was not about little! The 32 was cracked, only 21 points on the counter, concentration, aim, the wrist relaxed but still under tension, equal to the nerves. 2x13 ... rest 6. tension, take a deep breath ... a 9 ... 35 points ... too much and again a piece away from the dream. To that goal: 6 mass or even 12 halves, distributed on quasi double six, in total 6 liters on 4,82m at not quite 2 tons live weight. Derer only 1,058 in the 94 'year. And only the faithful accountant knows how many in Freccia D'Oro Gold ... The winner will take em all !!!

So it said everything gave for the victory, it was in the end conceivable short! There were just 2 great teams, 6 equally great finishers, a fair game and 3 "almost" totally lucky winners from 3 Freccia D'Argento. Why "almost"? D'Argento is not an D'Oro! And so, in the end, after a few more minutes of relaxed, relaxed company, he whispered as softly and calmly as he did and calmly glided across the rich late summer green. Only the turkey was still widely heard. And there remains the realization "The winner (not always) takes it all". Thank you for a very successful and beautiful Saturday in beautiful weather, an exciting JDOST event with great participants.
