ÖMVV-Association Day during the Classic Expo at Salzburg

JDOST in Salzburg at the Classic Expo 2017 and at the ÖMVV-Association Day.

We write Saturday, October 21th, 2017. It is night. Sinister, damp night! No stars and no moon! Tired! Almost half past six! Wolfgang and I start from Vienna in the direction of exhibition center Salzburg. There is the ÖMVV-Association Day takes place during the Classic Expo 2017.

Both events are on the agenda. The cocks all around are still in sweet dreams, while we are from the field. While the dawn of darkness displaces the darkness (invented by Lucas, the prince of darkness), other members of the club meet at the Service Area Voralpenkreuz. Helmut and Margit D. as well as Sharon W. and Bernhard H. In convoy we continue to Salzburg. The exhibition center, including parking lots, is quickly found. Wolfgang and I - already half-spirited - walk to the conference room, in which the ÖMVV-Association Day will begin shortly. Our club colleagues already visit the Classic Expo. At the ÖMVV-conference, we will learn about current developments around 'historical mobility', presentations by three insurance companies and the presentation of the 'Vintage-study 2017'. The meeting was rounded off with a panel discussion on the results of the vintage study - on the stage were two JDOST club members. Mr. G. Brown as representative of the ÖAMTC and Mr. M. Strubreiter for the AutoRevue. We will report on the interesting results and information at the next club evening in November. After the end of the ÖMVV-meeting, we have arranged with Sharon and Bernhard to admire the magnificent and partly high-caliber exhibits of the vintage fair. The Classic Expo offers stands for car and accessory dealers and suppliers of Automobilia as well as a private car market and an auction by Dorotheum. As we stroll through the hall, we visit our sponsors Kaubek-Oil and Pasztor-Classic. Sharon and Bernhard leave the show in the course of the afternoon. Before the decision, we meet two more members, Karl and Eva R., and exchange briefly about the experiences of the day. A short detour to the current auction - mobile prizes come under the hammer of the auctioneer at prices of almost 200 kilos. Before we take the long way back to Vienna we reward ourselves with a crispy schnitzel and matching Stiegl beer. We are back in Vienna for the ghost hour. It's night. Sinister, damp night! No stars and no moon! And yes: very tired!

The day was exhausting but very nice! We are looking forward to the next time and to share the information with our members at the next club evening.

Best regards

Andreas Icha
