Springtour 2019

The spring has arrived and with it the first tour of the JDOST - the JDOST spring tour. The Orga-Team Maria & Heinz Winkler invite you on a journey through Wald- and Mühlviertel. Actual start is on Sat, 13.05. at 9 o'clock - for many this is just after cock crowing time. Therefore, most of the participants decide to arrive on Friday evening in the 1. Faulenzerhotel in Friedersbach in Zwettl. So the weekend can begin comfortably with a delicious dinner.

37 (!) JDOST members and friends have pledged and form the field of 20 partly historic and partly brand new automobiles. The XJ Group is most frequently represented with seven vehicles (XJ12 Series 3, XJ40 and even two XJR). Also the XK lovers (XK8 and XK 4.2 in coupe and convertible) were numerous - four pieces - thereby. The Classic department decorates the mobile compilation with two Mk2 and one E-Type. An S-Type V8 beats the Jaguar bridge to the modern F-PACE, which was provided by our sponsor Denzel AG. A TVR and a Triumph TR250 - two classic British sports cars also enjoy the successful event, as the two exotics of Honda and Audi.

Day 0 - Friday
During the evening, the hungry mouths are pulled into the dining room reserved for the JDOST group. In addition to culinary delights and drinks, Wolfgang S. welcomes the participants - among them the Orga-Team Maria and Heinz W., as well as the guests Uschi and Walter K., who are attending a JDOST event for the first time.

Day 1 - Saturday
Just in time at 9 o'clock in the morning the train sets in motion. Departure from Friedersbach with the destination Freistadt. In Freistadt the visit of the Braucommune is on the program. A few miles before the end of the stage, a diversion forces the car-snake over St.Oswald - a nice detour. At 10.30 clock the pack arrives and the guide gives deep insights into the art of brewing and the historic ownership of the brewery. Beer is bunkered in the brewery shop, as if there is no tomorrow. However, the free-leaves beer is really very digestible.

Lunch is available at the Wirtshaus Pammer in Hirschbach - a beautiful building with the typical millstone granite stones that peek out from behind the plaster. After the delicious midday meal, the third stage starts after 2 pm - destination is Stift Engelszell in Engelhartszell. About halfway the TVR of Bernhard W. means, he needs a short break. Inexplicable reasons stop the engine and only by threat of love withdrawal, the car heart begins to shake again - let's go!

A Trapistenmönchs appreciator inaugurates us in the history of the Trapists, Cistercians and Benedictines and those of the congregation - a wonderfully kubweiliger lecture with insightful insights. Thankfully, a pen shop is integrated - a liqueur tasting can make the palate rejoice and your wallets loose. If no liqueur, then at least a 6-carrier Trager beer may accompany the thirsty souls. Drunk on with knowledge and liqueur tastings, the day's goal is the Hotel Böhmerwaldhof in Ulrichsberg.

The evening in the hotel restaurant was as expected very comfortable and the dishes exquisite. Wolfgang S. recapitulates the day and Heinz W. informs the attentive listeners about the activities of the following day. Andreas I once again points out the rental car kindly provided by Denzel - a bullish Jaguar F-PACE 30d portfolio with top equipment. Andreas provides the guests with a map with the vehicle configuration and offers to examine and drive the premium SUV in detail the next day.

Day 2 - Sunday
The group starts comfortably shortly after 10 o'clock after the morning breakfast with ice cold. The first stopover is the mechanical sound factory in Haslach / Mühl. The Haslacher Erwin Rechberger founded in 1994 the first Museum of jukeboxes, which was expanded more and more to the sound factory. The visitors were all very excited and do not want to leave the museum anymore - the instruments cast a spell over them. At 12 o'clock it is snowing easily - time for the descent.

Just over 70 kilometers later, the Konvoy reaches the Schlossbrauerei Weinberg. In the cozy dining room, the delicacies of the Wirtshaus brewery are incorporated - then departure for the next cultural highlight, the valuable altar in the Kefermarkter pilgrimage church to St. Wolfgang. Again, the leadership is highly professional and satisfies the thirst for knowledge of the culturally interested Jaguar enthusiasts.

The last destination of the spring trip is in Weins an der Donau - Gasthof Hinterleitner. Almost all participants of the ride enjoy the last weekend together. Again delicious food and drink are offered and consumed. Maria and Heinz W. thank the attendees for the participation and the wonderful time together this weekend. Wolfgang S. is pleased about the more than successful JDOST event and thanks also to the participants, the Orga-Team Maria & Heinz W. and the company Denzel, who provided the current Jaguar F-PACE for the spring trip ,

The completely successful start to the season was a great success - everyone arrives safely and soundly back in their home. Full of anticipation for the next events.

Until next time!

Andi
