Vienna-Classic-Days 2021

The 'rolling automobile museum' was finally able to open its doors again for classic car enthusiasts this year. The Vienna Classic Days took place on the weekend of August 21/22th. 2021. Around 160 cars take part in the traditional event. This time the base was at the Danube Tower in the Danube Park.

The JDOST club stand was set up right next to the Danube Tower, where the start of the classic car rally took place on both days. From 7 a.m. onwards, many helping hands met to set up the tent, the information desk, a clothes rack, the table with the merchandise items and a couple of folding armchairs. The JDOST tent was flanked by beautiful cars. On the one hand a Jaguar E-Type Series 1 (loan from Jochen H.) and on the other hand a great line-up of an Aston Martin DBS Superleggera (loan from Aston Martin Vienna), Jaguar E-Type Series 2 (loan from Helmut P .), Jaguar I-PACE EV400 HSE (loan from Jaguar Land Rover Austria), Jaguar XK 4.2 Cabrio (loan from Petra B.), Jaguar XJ6 (loan from Peter K.), another Jaguar E-Type Series 1 and a Jaguar E-Type V12 convertible (both from rally participants). The large number of E-Types celebrated the 60th anniversary of the 'most beautiful car in the world' (quote: Enzo Ferrari). The balancing act between the past and the future spans the Jaguar E-Type, the Jaguar XJ6, the XK and the I-PACE, the first all-electric car from Jaguar.

On Saturday the participants will start a rally with some special stages at 11 a.m. The route leads through Vienna, over Vienna's local mountains and back into the city center to 'The Mall' in the third district. From there, all participants drive the two, already traditional, laps along Vienna's Ringstrasse - much to the delight of the many spectators at the roadside, who admired the mobile pieces of jewelery with shining eyes.

On Sunday, the starting gun will be given at 10 a.m. Again it goes all over Vienna. Among other things, the route leads past the Vienna Stock Exchange, where the JDOST special stage is located. Each participant must stop and answer a question about Jaguars. If the answer is correct and quick, then the chance of one of the first three places in this special test is within the realm of the possible. The top 3 received wonderful gifts at the award ceremony, which were made available by Jaguar Land Rover Austria. The first vehicles arrive at the Danube Tower at around 12 noon and park their vehicles in the Danube Park. The already traditional old-timer picnic can begin. Several stands with food and drinks ensure the physical well-being of the participants, who have already made themselves comfortable on the meadow. The award ceremony began at 3 p.m. and from around 5 p.m. the event slowly dissolves.

The club stand is quickly dismantled and stowed in an automobile delivery donkey. The rental cars are picked up by their owners and the everyday calm of the Vienna Danube Park returns.

The JDOST board would like to thank everyone who helped set up and look after the club stand, the hard-working members who handled the special test at the Vienna Stock Exchange, and all the members who made the exhibition vehicles available to us at Jaguar Land Rover Austria and Aston Martin Vienna for other exhibition vehicles and, last but not least, with Rudi Bromberger and Martina Pitlik, who again organized the Vienna Classic Days so splendidly.

We hope that the Vienna Classic Days will take place again next year - we are really looking forward to it.
