Saturday, 14.10.2017. Meeting point "Benediktinerstift Göttweig" with a magnificent view of the Danube valley. More than 40 members have arrived - with 19 vehicles. After a refreshment in the restaurant is at the pin-parking for a short talk, then we go. The 19 (mainly) Jaguars make about 70 km of federal highway to Ernegg Castle, which was first mentioned in a document in 979. The 'Jaguar Daimler Owners Sports & Touring Car Club' JDOST can look back on a not so long tradition - namely 10 years. The 10-year anniversary will be celebrated stylishly in Castle Ernegg with its historic charm.
Arriving at the venerable walls, two magnificent E-types and a beautiful Mk II are placed in the castle courtyard, where sparkling wine is served as a welcome. Other mobile treasures are parked directly in front of the castle-Portal and the remaining vehicles park at the publicly held castle parking.
After the champagne reception, the participants move into the very original rooms and join in the small talk in the bar.
The preparations are complete, the technology is ready - nothing stands in the way of a successful celebration. The guests gradually find themselves in the salon - the festively designed space for the anniversary celebration.
Mr. Wolfgang Schöbel welcomes the eagerly awaiting party and presents the agenda of the evening. Part one of the presentations is a look into the near and far future of the Jaguar brand, presented by Mr. Andreas Icha. The main section is followed by a journey through the history of JDOST - from its beginnings in 2007 to today. The board members Mr. Wolfgang Schöbel, Mr. Gerhard Wagner and Mr. Andreas Icha lead through this exciting journey through time, evoking joyful memories from many members.
After the interesting lectures, the buffet is ceremoniously opened and the 10-year anniversary is celebrated with culinary delights and corresponding beer / wine / juice accompaniment. To accompany it, a 2500-picture slide show with a selection of the best recordings of the last 10 years runs in the background. The mood is great, the frame is worthy! Celebrate until early in the morning! Some take advantage of the opportunity to spend the night in the castle and start their journey home on Sunday after a hearty breakfast.
The Resumé: it was an impressive event that will be remembered by all. The location, the organization, the atmosphere - everything was consistent and the joy for the next 10 years is correspondingly large!
