JDOST-Automnride 2013

Welcome to the autumn mist

But even in the sunshine, on wonderful trails and at an educational exhibition.

British cars and their autumn exit, because one thinks like fog and a sight, which leaves only the rear of Jaguar ahead in the field of vision. We had to not only think these weather conditions, but were allowed to bathe in it, is thanks to the good contact with our Club Chief Wolfgang, who had ordered a smoke hood for the Kahlenberg with perfect timing.

Which was so fitting because we got there together, perfectly attuned despite limited visibility found the meeting place and also the cars before driving away. These climatic conditions of altitude health resort caused also the suddenly ill clutch master cylinder of a XJ6 series II to even tend to be somewhat heal the suffering until the evening to let, which Wolfgang mechanic forecast ("so you can go loose, it is guaranteed no worse.") that an other Hobbyschraubers agreed perfectly ("there, everything is possible, it can get worse, but also better.") but also not refuted was.

Shortly after 9:00 we drove, sorted by years of construction, going on, Tulln steered towards the roads and then hell Castle, where we at the Lumpazibräu to the second beer free breakfast held - the first was already an hour, and if someone had breakfast at home, then had ever been two hours passed.

More passed was the fog, we then like to have him and drove the Danube in dry, mild, soon a sunny autumn mood up through the Wachau Valley, laid a few meandering in the area and contributed to Jauerling about Dürnstein and Spitz. There, the annual JDOST autumn migration took place, you may imagine itself this year as a three-minute walk to the lookout. The climb of the observation deck took again a few minutes, persistent climbing of stairs was rewarded with a wonderful view all around. The best direction was, of course, that was in our parking lot.

We also realized that it was time for lunch, and settled down in the Gasthof Grüner Baum in Maria Laach, before we headed to the Schloss Artstetten. The local Museum is dedicated to the throne, Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie, whose killing is anniversary soon for the hundredth time, the museum guide the story spread so alive and exciting, we stayed like a little longer than the schedule had proposed. A little time to visit the family vault in the basement of the castle had to stay still, then we threaded out again all 16 cars from the narrow courtyard (remember: sorted by years of construction) and drove in Aggsbach village, where dinner was waiting.

The suggestion of some of the Club members, residence Wachau, a lock not dissimilar to make the restaurant, by laying into the Vienna area to the new club restaurant might not so quickly implemented for practical reasons.
