Bowling Championship 2022

In 2021, the COVID-19 pandemic put a temporary halt to our series of bowling tournaments, but on 19 March 2022, we finally got the balls rolling again at Wirtshaus Oliver in 3012 Wolfsgraben.

After a quick round of antigen tests (which all came out negative), the food tasted twice as good. At around 7:30 p.m., we got up and got moving. Full of expectations, we drew our three bowling pyramids for the first round on the blackboards and split up into three groups. Unfortunately, after about 10 minutes, one of the lanes gave up the ghost. A bin broke loose from its rope – Brigitte had probably managed too strong of a throw. We continued with only two lanes. Fortunately, the room temperature was 10°C at the most, so we didn't break into a sweat – our laughing exercises had to keep us warm! In the individual ranking, Karl Österreicher was the winner, closely followed by Christian Plachy and my humble self. Werner Barger fought bravely for 4th place, and the coveted ‘glass pin’ went to Renate Reimer.

Just before the first participants said their goodbyes, the big boss of the house had the brilliant idea of switching on the newly installed ceiling heating to thaw us out. The cosy warmth might also have brought the jukebox back to life, so it was not until around 11 p.m. that the last of us left in a buoyant mood.
