Report on the Tulln 2025 classic car fair
The traditional classic car fair in Tulln took place again this year – this time from 10 – 11 May 2025, and the JDOST has been taking part with its stylish stand for many years.
We delighted ourselves and, above all, the trade fair visitors with eight beautiful classic cars. Especially under the motto “50 years of the Jaguar XJS”.
The Jaguar XJ-S (Jaguar XJS from 1991) is a Gran Turismo from the British car manufacturer Jaguar. It was produced from 10 September 1975 to 4 April 1996 in approximately 115,413 units, making it the most successful Jaguar sports model to date. There are a total of around 21 model variants in three successive series.
– Series 1: 1975-1981
– Series 2: 1981-1991
– Series 3: 1991-1996
With the last E-Type, which was produced in September 1974, Jaguar gave up the market for roadster sports cars, for which the English car industry in particular was known with brands such as Jaguar, Triumph and MG. New legal conditions, particularly in the USA, prompted Jaguar to favour the development of a fast, comfortable coupé (GT) over a roadster. The lines of the XJ-S 5.3 GT Coupé Series 1, developed on the basis of the XJ saloon and equipped with the V12 engine from the E-Type Series III, were initially controversial at the time. It took some time before the XJ-S Series 1 was recognised and appreciated as an independent, avant-garde design creation. The design certainly had the potential to be a long seller with a build time of over 20 years and 7 months.
The JDOST exhibited five! XJS (XJSC, XJS, three XJS convertibles), as well as an XJC, an MK2 3.8 and an E-Type Coupe. We were delighted to welcome many new interested parties, JDOST members and friends as well as our sponsor partners.
The large, representative JDOST exhibition stand was once again a great success for the entire JDOST team, who did a great job setting up, dismantling and looking after the stand.
The Executive Board would like to take this opportunity to thank the many helping hands once again for their fantastic efforts and we are already looking forward to the next classic car fair in Tulln in 2026.
