On Saturday, November 8, 25 people met at 8:30 a.m. at our partner “Kultshirt” in Enzesfeld-Lindabrunn, where we were welcomed with coffee and sweets by the owner, Ms. Elke Novak, and her husband. Some members purchased new club clothing there, and at 10:00 a.m., we set off via Puchberg and Gloggnitz toward Grimmenstein Castle.
At around 11:45 a.m., we arrived at the parking lot, where some participants stopped at a restaurant and 18 participants climbed the 3-kilometer ascent to the castle, where the last hikers arrived at around 1:15 p.m. to fortify themselves with baked potatoes or sausages in the castle tavern. Afterwards, the host took the time to give us a brief insight into the history of the castle. After the descent and meeting up with other members at the parking lot, we set off towards Forchtenstein, via Mattersburg to the “Weinwirtshaus” in Klingenbach, where we arrived at around 4:30 p.m. and checked into our rooms.
At 5:30 p.m., the champagne reception began in the wine cellar, where additional members joined the group. At around 6:15 p.m., Wolfgang Sch. and organizer Michael B. welcomed the 28 participants with a short speech, marking the start of a pleasant evening. After a delicious meal and a glass or two, the evening ended after midnight for some participants.
On Sunday, November 9, the 24 participants who had stayed overnight met for breakfast, and after lively and extensive conversations, the last participants left the hotel after 12:00 noon.
Many thanks to the organizing team, the Brockmann family, for the great organization.
