On Saturday, 26 July 2025, at 10 a.m., in pouring rain, 11 Jaguars set off on a two-day tasting tour from Laxenburg Castle towards Rohrau.
After an extremely interesting and informative tour of the castle by the count himself, we had lunch in the castle tavern.
The journey then continued past large fields of bright yellow sunflowers and countless wind turbines to Mönchhof. The village museum impressed everyone with its size and faithful replicas. We were able to revel in the past for 1.5 hours without getting our feet wet.
At 5:15 p.m., we arrived at the Hotel Post in Illmitz and walked to the nearby Oppitz-Asworth family winery. The 10-course private dinner with wine pairing was excellent. The wines were accompanied by interesting and humorous commentary from winemaker Willi Oppitz.
On the second day, after a photo stop at Lake Neusiedl, the group set off for Hungary to visit Esterhazy Castle in Fertöd. After touring the castle, the journey continued through Hungary’s villages to Sopron, where we stopped for lunch at the Hubertus restaurant.
The next stage took us to Gramatneusiedl to Dr. Barnea’s automobile and motorcycle museum. During a one-hour tour, everyone was able to admire the large collection and the beautiful wedding limousines.
Our two-day trip ended with a dinner together at the Mühlfeldhof winery in Pfaffstätten.
Conclusion: it was a homogeneous and fun group of 21 people who took part in a trouble-free trip in the Jaguar, where everything for body, mind and soul was provided.
