Just as in previous years, we took part in the Vienna Classic Days again this year.
Six JDOST teams set off on Saturday, August 22, from the parking lot of the “huma eleven” shopping center in Simmering. The roadbook led us along the Handelskai to the Kahlenberg and up the Höhenstraße. Checkpoints and special stages awaited all participants at a wide variety of locations. This year, for the first time, JDOST also hosted a checkpoint on Saturday, where our members Werner and Silvia P. and Claus H. surprised the participants with a guessing game. Starting at 4:30 p.m., the participants gathered for the famous lap around the Ring. The wait was filled with many fun and informative conversations. At 6:00 p.m., the convoy set off for the Ring under police escort, where we were cheered on by many enthusiastic spectators. Afterward, all participants were allowed to drive into the Prater, and the day came to a close with good food and pleasant conversation at the Prater–Alm.
Sunday began with a hearty breakfast at MA 48 on Rautenweg. There, the starting flag was raised at 10:00 a.m., and the participants drove through Kagran and Praterstern into the city center, following the roadbook. At the Börse checkpoint, our members Werner and Silvia P. and Erwin L. were waiting for us again with a question about the Jaguar brand. After a break at Heldenplatz, the final leg led us to Donaupark, where we were once again greeted by many enthusiastic spectators. Thanks to the support of Alberto S., Christian P., Silvia K., Fritz T., and Erwin H., our club booth was set up and visited by many friends and interested visitors.
The awards ceremony began around 3:30 p.m., during which the top three participants in the JDOST competition received a prize from Jaguar Land Rover.
Our members
Wolfgang and Marion S. secured third place in their class and eighth place overall.
Michael and Brigitte B. secured first place in their class and ninth place overall.
Roman B. and Astrid B. took 4th place in the class standings and 11th place in the overall standings.

We congratulate our members on their placements.
Many thanks to our members for their enthusiastic support this weekend. We’d also like to thank Dieter P. from Jaguar Land Rover for providing the prizes, and of course, our biggest thanks go to the organizer and his team, who once again managed to put together a fantastic event.
We’re looking forward to next year!
