JDOST at the Classic Expo Salzburg 2026 – British classics and a fantastic atmosphere
From 16 to 18 October 2026, the Classic Expo opened its doors once again at the Salzburg Exhibition Centre – and JDOST was right in the thick of it! We travelled from Vienna as early as 16 October to set up our club stand. From 4.00 pm, the cars began to roll in, turning our stand into a real eye-catcher. Thanks to our members and friends, we were able to showcase a Jaguar XJ 12 Series 1, a Mark II 340 and an XK 150 OTS. Our chairman went one better and organised a replica of the legendary ‘Tom Walkinshaw Racing’ XJS V12 from W. Schachinger. A beautiful E-Type convertible rounded off the British line-up.
Two genuine rarities were also on display. Our club member Roland M. provided a Jaguar 420G and a Mark IX. These cars are rare and, as you might expect, attracted plenty of admiring glances. The Reich car dealership from Linz, a long-established family business, enhanced our stand with a Jaguar XK 150 OTS. Walter Reich, better known as the ‘Oldie-Doc’, breathes new life into classic cars in his workshop. A promising collaboration is taking shape between the Reich car dealership and the JDOST.
After a lot of hard work, the stand was ready by around 4.00 pm. The first day drew to a close with a cosy dinner. On Friday and Saturday, we were delighted to welcome numerous visitors, prospective members and a number of club members. Over coffee and homemade cakes, we chatted about the hobby, shared experiences and had plenty of motor-related discussions. On Saturday evening, we headed over to the Hotel Königgut in Wals at around 6.00 pm. There, together with JDOST members, we enjoyed a cosy dinner and rounded off the day with a drink or two.
Our stand was also very busy on Sunday. We were delighted to have so many lovely encounters, make new acquaintances and have interesting conversations. Perhaps we’ll soon be welcoming new members to our ranks, and one or two collaborations might well develop from the contacts we’ve made.
From 5.00 pm onwards, it was finally time to get stuck in again. Thanks to lots of helping hands, our stand was dismantled within two and a half hours. We then set off together in a convoy on our journey home to Vienna. Our verdict: we’ve had three days packed with impressive classic Jaguars, good conversations and a real sense of club camaraderie. A heartfelt thank you to all the visitors, members, friends and supporters who made this successful exhibition weekend possible!
We’re already looking forward to seeing you again, at the latest at next year’s Classic Expo!
