This year, we sponsored the Grimming Gesäuse Classic for the first time and registered five teams, although one team was unfortunately unable to participate at short notice.

On the evening of 14 August, all participants met at the main square in Rottenmann. After a speech by organiser Alexander M., the roadbooks were handed out and there was still plenty of time to chat. As all JDOST teams were staying at the same hotel, they worked on the roadbooks there until late in the evening.

On 15 August, the starting flag was raised for the participants at 9:00 a.m. at the Laimer car dealership in Liezen. The route led via Döllach up to Mitterberg and on to Gröbming. It then continued over the Pruggererberg towards Schladming to Ramsau and up to the Oberhofalm in Filzmoos for a lunch break.

After refuelling, we circled the Dachstein, drove through Hallstatt to the ski jump at Kulm and then via Stainach and Lassing back to Rottenmann, where the first day of competition traditionally ended with the popular acceleration and braking test.

On 16 August, the participants set off at 9 a.m. from Admont Abbey, crossing the Gesäuse, continuing on to Eisenerz and over the Präbichl to the Präbichl ski area. From there, the route took them through the Palten and Liesing valleys up to the Kaiserau and back to Admont, where lunch was served in the abbey cellar.

In the afternoon, the route led to St. Gallen and on via the Hengst Pass to the Wurzeralm and over the Pyhrn Pass back to Irdning, finishing at the IMLAUER Hotel Schloss Pichlarn.

The evening event began at 6 p.m. at the Kirchenwirt in Aigen, where, after a hearty meal, the award ceremony took place at 7:30 p.m. Afterwards, we drove to the hotel, where we ended the evening with a drink or two. The next day, after a hearty breakfast, we set off on our journey home.

We congratulate all participants, as well as Gerhard K. & Andrea W. on their victory, and look forward to participating again next year!
